7 APRIL 2017 - THE WINDOW FOR TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATIONS IS CLOSED. 

With the aim of enhancing the participation of students and young post docs, the ICS is pleased to announce that sponsorship of doctoral students and young post-doctoral students wishing to attend the symposium is possible. Grants are available for a limited number of students and young post docs.

  • The call to apply for sponsored attendance is released with the opening for registration in November 2016.
  • It is compulsory to submit an abstract.
  • To apply for a travel grant, please submit the following documents to info.icslucerne2017[at]dsm.com: 1) Confirmation of university matriculation, 2) Letter of recommendation by the supervisor, 3) Budget overview for the grant requested, 4) Abstract.
  • Decisions will be taken by a panel composed of members of the ICS Council.
  • The amount per sponsored attendance is maximum CHF 1500 per person. The scholarship must be used exclusively for registration, accommodation and travels.
  • Awards are competitive and based on evaluation of the abstract and mentor support letters by the Selection Committee together with consideration the cost of travel that is likely to be incurred by the student. All students may apply, but preference will be given to those whose mentors are currently regular members of the Society as of the close of the application period (March 31).
